Personal Attachment to Niagara Academy of Tennis

I was introduced to Niagara Academy of Tennis through a family friend who was working here at the time. When I was completing my undergraduate degree I realized that I had a passion for teaching. My time at Niagara Academy of Tennis starts as volunteer work as a tutor, and I quickly realized that the school environment Niagara Academy of Tennis provided was second to none. Allowing students to excel academically and athletically, all on the same campus was something I found so beneficial. My passion for Niagara Academy of Tennis has continued to grow, watching students achieve their goals of playing tennis at the post-secondary level while also achieving academic scholarships. The kids are what keeps us going and inspires us as teachers to continue providing a high quality education.

Approach to Teaching

As a teacher it is important to focus on creating a well rounded student. It is easy to get kids to memorize facts, but as a teacher our goal is to get them to a place of higher level thinking. Here they access analytical and critical thinking skills, which they carry through their post-secondary education as well as in their personal lives. We also focus on teaching student life skills, such as organization, punctuality and responsibility, while developing and delivering curriculum.
