PICKLEBALL

Niagara Academy of Tennis is now home to one of the fastest growing sports in North America.

Pickleball is a sport played with a paddle and plastic ball on a court that is the same size as a badminton court. It’s good exercise and lots of fun. Players do not need to have experience playing racquet sports to play pickleball, but it does appeal to people who have played tennis.

Since players are new to the sport, Karen Golob teaches the players the skills and the rules of the game. Currently, the league is using a round-robin format with players switching partners each week.

For more information on the game itself, you can check out the  following websites: www.pickleballassociationofontario.org or www.pickleballcanada.org.
